Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up with an email address or password. When you start the app you choose a language and the name you'd like to be greeted with.
Which languages are supported?
Arabic, English and French. You can change the language at any time in Settings, and the app switches to right-to-left layout for Arabic.
I'm not receiving notifications. What can I check?
Make sure notifications are allowed for Dhakerni in iOS Settings → Notifications, that “Receive Dhikr notifications” is on in the app's Settings, and that your device isn't in a Focus mode that silences them. If you travel, accept the timezone update the app proposes so reminders arrive at your local time.
How are prayer times calculated?
Prayer times are calculated on your device from your location. You can choose the calculation method in Settings → Prayer Times and set a reminder for each prayer from the Prayer tab. See our Privacy Policy for how location is used.
How do I create my own reminder?
On the Dhikr tab, tap the + button, write your dhikr and choose the time and the days you want to be reminded.
How do goals and the counter work?
Open the Goals tab, create a goal with a dhikr and a daily target, and tap the ring to count. You can chain several dhikr in one goal and get a reminder at a fixed time or relative to a prayer.
How do I add a widget?
Long-press the Home Screen, tap the + button and search for Dhakerni. Widgets are available for the daily dhikr, prayer times and your goals.
I found an issue with a dhikr.
Tap the flag icon on the dhikr card to report it, with a short note. Reports are reviewed and the content is corrected or removed.
Something else isn't working.
Update to the latest version and restart the app. If the problem continues, email us with your device model and iOS version.
